PowerFluxScalingΒΆ

Type:enum
Range:Off, UnitNormal
Default:Off
Appearance:optional
Excludes:Amplitude, K

This parameter can be used when defining a plane wave by its incidence angles ThetaPhi or by its \sigma-coordinates (Sigma) in order to perform a power flux scaling of the plane wave. The power flux (density) of a plane wave is given as,

\begin{eqnarray*}
P = \frac{1}{2} \pvec{E} \times \pvec{H}^{*} = \frac{1}{2} \sqrt{\frac{\varepsilon}{\mu}} \|\pvec{E}\|^2 \pvec{k}^{*}/\|\pvec{k}\|.
\end{eqnarray*}

When setting PowerFluxScaling=UnitNormal the plane wave is re-scaled, so that the normal energy flux is normalized, i.e.

\begin{eqnarray*}
P_z = 1
\end{eqnarray*}
